Arsenal is reportedly targeting Ivan Toney ahead of the summer transfer window, as confirmed by Brentford boss Thomas Frank. Toney, who openly expressed his desire to play for a top club, has attracted the attention of the Gunners due to his outstanding performance as one of the Premier League’s top marksmen. Despite being linked with a move in the January transfer window, Toney remained at Brentford. However, Frank anticipates his departure at the end of the season, acknowledging the likelihood of Toney being sold.

Toney’s contract with Brentford runs until the summer of 2025, presenting the club with a decision whether to cash in this year or risk losing him on a free transfer in the future. Frank expressed that while he would prefer to keep Toney, he recognizes the player’s value and potential to thrive at a top club. The Brentford boss emphasized the striker’s talent and prime footballing age, indicating his expectation of substantial interest from various clubs. Toney, in turn, expressed his ambition to play for a top club while maintaining focus on his on-field performance.

As Arsenal seeks a prolific goalscorer, Toney’s impressive track record in the Premier League has undoubtedly captured their attention. Since Brentford’s promotion to the top flight in 2021, Toney has scored 34 goals in the Premier League.
