The Red Devils’ clash against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park has been changed to an 8 pm kick-off on May 6, a bank holiday. Any supporters travelling via train would have to leave the match in the first half to reach Euston – 10 miles from the stadium – where the final train back to Manchester leaves at 9.39 pm. United’s away following was left furious earlier this month after being handed back-to-back night games in west London within six days – a 1-1 draw against Brentford and a 4-3 defeat at Chelsea.<\/p>\n
The double-header followed late away games at Burnley, Sheffield United, and Newcastle United, with the Palace trip increasing the season tally to six, more than any other top-flight team. That change was one too many, with United informing supporters that they had contacted the Premier League to demand greater consideration for travelling fans. A statement released by the club expressed solidarity with the fans and mentioned they were writing to the Premier League to request greater consideration to be given to match-going fans when agreeing fixture schedules with broadcasters.<\/p>\n
