Nicolas Jackson, a star for Chelsea, was involved in a dispute over penalty-taking responsibilities during a match against Everton. Despite his desire to continue proving himself in the Premier League and reach personal goals, Jackson has reportedly accepted that he is not the team’s penalty taker. The incident occurred during a game in which Cole Palmer was given the chance to take a penalty and score his fourth goal of the match, further solidifying his impressive performance for the Blues.

However, the squabble for the penalty between Palmer, Jackson, and Noni Madueke, while Chelsea was leading 4-0, was seen as an embarrassment by manager Mauricio Pochettino. Pochettino expressed his dissatisfaction with the behavior in post-match interviews. According to The Telegraph, Jackson was visibly agitated even after the game ended and needed to be calmed down by his teammate, Moises Caicedo.

Pochettino has since reiterated that Palmer is the designated penalty taker for the team, and Jackson has reportedly taken the manager’s strong warning on board. In the wake of the incident, it has been emphasized that the team needs to think more collectively and adhere to a more disciplined approach. Pochettino has made it clear that he will not tolerate such behavior in the future, stating that the team is in a learning process and needs to act in a more unified manner.

Overall, the incident has led to a reaffirmation of Palmer’s role as the penalty taker for Chelsea.
