Jamie Carragher appears to have been proven wrong about Alexis Mac Allister’s ability to play as a holding midfielder for Liverpool. Mac Allister was impressive in the role during Liverpool’s 4-0 victory against Bournemouth. He made more tackles in that match than any other Liverpool player in the last eight seasons.

Carragher had previously expressed his belief that Liverpool needed to sign a top-quality holding midfielder to challenge for the title. He felt that Mac Allister was not suited for the role due to defensive weaknesses and a lack of pace. Carragher also suggested that Liverpool could benefit from a versatile defender who could play in multiple positions.

Despite Carragher’s comments, Mac Allister’s performance against Bournemouth has given Liverpool supporters more confidence in their title aspirations. However, there is still a possibility that Mac Allister could struggle in more competitive fixtures.
