Tottenham sufre un golpe ya que el jugador por el que Ange Postecoglou está “muy interesado” está a punto de firmar un nuevo contrato

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou could miss out on transfer target Sebastian Szymanski as the attacking midfielder may decide to sign a new contract at Fenerbahce. The Poland international has attracted interest from Spurs after a successful season, with 12 goals and 14 assists in all competitions. Postecoglou was keen on Szymanski and had sent scouts to watch him in action, but it has been revealed that Fenerbahce will open talks over the player’s future in February or March.

Tottenham had hoped to secure Szymanski’s transfer, but it seems unlikely during the current window. Fenerbahce may offer the 24-year-old a pay rise to persuade him to stay for another season, but his future will ultimately depend on potential offers that come their way. Szymanski joined Fenerbahce from Dynamo Moscow last summer and his current deal runs until 2027.

He previously had a successful loan spell with Feyenoord and has also earned 30 caps for Poland, playing in the 2022 World Cup. Under Postecoglou’s management, Tottenham has shown improvement, even topping the Premier League table at one point. However, a series of setbacks have left them battling for a top-four finish, currently sitting fifth in the table, three points behind fourth-place Aston Villa.
