Erling Haaland suffers heavy criticism after Man City salvage draw against Real Madrid

Erling Haaland had an outstanding debut season in England, scoring 52 goals across all competitions and winning the Premier League Golden Boot and European Golden Shoe awards. However, former Madrid player Rafael van der Vaart criticized him, calling him “very average on the ball” and stating that “if he doesn’t score, he’s useless.”

Despite this criticism, Haaland has scored six times in Europe’s top competition, trailing only behind Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane. His manager, Pep Guardiola, vehemently defended him, asserting that Haaland is the best striker in the world and dismissing the criticism as unfounded.

Guardiola’s support for the young striker is unwavering, as he continues to back him despite the challenges of a demanding fixture schedule. Haaland’s notable achievements include scoring against every Premier League team he has faced, further establishing his prowess as a top striker.
