Man Utd in discussions with former Chelsea manager as Erik ten Hag nears appointment

Coventry faced disappointment when a goal by Victor Torp in the 120th minute of the match was disallowed by VAR due to an offside involving Haji Wright. Despite fighting back from a 3-0 deficit, the Midlands team ultimately lost to Premier League United in a penalty shootout, leaving the future of their manager, Ten Hag, in doubt.

Reports from Germany suggest that United are in talks with Thomas Tuchel as a potential replacement for Ten Hag. Tuchel, who achieved significant success with Chelsea, is currently managing Bayern Munich and could leave United waiting for a decision until after the Champions League final on June 1.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Ten Hag remains optimistic and proud of his team despite their collapse against Coventry. With Champions League qualification unlikely, United’s season will now focus on the FA Cup final at the end of May, where they will face Manchester City for the second consecutive season.
