Paris Saint-Germain could disrupt Tottenham’s summer transfer plans by acquiring the services of Chelsea star Levi Colwill.
Chelsea is eager to spend this summer, but outgoing transfers are equally important. The club needs to raise funds to improve its Profit and Sustainability rules (PSR) status and avoid possible penalties from the Premier League. Offloading homegrown players is seen as crucial to staying compliant with the regulations, as the fees received will count as pure profit on the balance sheet.
Armando Broja, Ian Maatsen, and Conor Gallagher are among the players who could depart, with PSG potentially creating obstacles for Tottenham. Selling Colwill for a significant amount would provide Chelsea with substantial spending power at a critical time. This would also allow the club to reconsider the sale of Gallagher, especially as Pochettino is interested in continuing to work with the England international.
Tottenham is hoping that PSG focuses on alternative defensive targets to ensure a deal for Gallagher can be completed before it’s too late.
