Sir Jim Ratcliffe may already have knowledge of the first two major departures among a group of five players likely to leave. Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial are both set to leave for free, as confirmed by Erik ten Hag, who mentioned the lack of progress in discussions with Varane for a contract extension.

Martial, who has spent nine years at the club, is also expected to depart due to his latest injury-stricken season. Additionally, a decision has been made to send Sofyan Amrabat back to Fiorentina at the end of the season, snubbing the buy option in his loan deal.
