Arsenal scouts closely monitor Granit Xhaka’s match for Bayer Leverkusen, eyeing ‘four potential signings’

Arsenal reportedly sent scouts to watch Granit Xhaka’s former team, Bayer Leverkusen, in action over the weekend. Leverkusen extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table with a last-minute 3-2 victory against RB Leipzig. Arsenal had their eye on four players during the match.
After a poor run of form, Arsenal had a convincing 5-0 win against Crystal Palace earlier in the day. Leverkusen’s match against Leipzig started a few hours later.
Gunners scouts were in Germany to watch Xavi Simons and Lois Openda from Leverkusen, and Jeremie Frimpong and Exequiel Palacios from Leipzig. The match saw Leipzig take the lead, only for Leverkusen to equalize twice before securing the win in stoppage time.
Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool scouts were also in attendance, with each team interested in different players. Leverkusen could potentially lose several players in the summer due to the appeal of the Premier League.
Leverkusen’s strong performance under former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has put them seven points ahead of second-place Bayern Munich. Bayern suffered a surprise 1-0 loss to Werder Bremen, their second defeat of the season. However, Bayern still has a game in hand and will face Leverkusen next month.
