Fresh reports suggest that there will be ruthless changes at Manchester United as INEOS figures Sir Dave Brailsford and Jean-Claude Blanc are set to earn a seat on the club’s board. Sir Dave Brailsford, the former British Cycling performance director, is currently conducting due diligence in preparation for these changes. INEOS is expected to make key appointments to reshape United’s sporting structure, including a new head of recruitment and sporting director. Additionally, Richard Arnold will be replaced as the club’s chief executive after his departure in 2023. The current interim, Patrick Stewart, is not expected to inherit the role permanently.

Earlier this year, Keane expressed uncertainty about the future direction of Manchester United under INEOS’ rule. However, he welcomed the potential for change, given the club’s recent decision-making regarding recruitment and wages. Keane commented that he hoped for a change in dynamic at the club and welcomed INEOS’ inspiration and high ambitions.

According to the MEN report, the future of John Murtough, currently at United, is uncertain, as a new sporting director is one of INEOS’ top priorities. It is suggested that Murtough may be retained in an administrative role, ending his involvement in recruitment. These changes, among others, are expected to take place at Old Trafford, pleasing Keane and other former United stars.
