Manchester United are rumored to be considering a surprise move for Al-Ittihad striker Karim Benzema in the upcoming January transfer window, as they look to fill the void left by the long-term absence of Anthony Martial.
Choupo-Moting, a player with previous experience in the Premier League from his time at Stoke City during the 2017/18 season, is also being mentioned in connection with Manchester United. During his time at Stoke, the Cameroon international recorded five goals and five assists in 32 appearances. Following his tenure at Stoke, he went on to play for Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, with nine goals and three assists for PSG and 38 goals and 10 assists for Bayern in his total appearances for the two clubs.
Martial’s injury and expected 10-week recovery time from groin surgery will keep him out of action until early April. As a result, he has not been able to provide much competition for Rasmus Hojlund this season due to inconsistent availability.
It is speculated that Erik ten Hag, the coach of Manchester United, may be seeking additional options for the team in the coming months to complement the 20-year-old Hojlund.
