Roy Keane Confirms £18m Striker Target as the Real Deal for Man Utd

The Daily and Sunday Express are the home of United. The club requires reinforcements as Anthony Martial is expected to miss up to 10 more weeks due to groin surgery. The focus of business at Old Trafford has been on outgoings this month. Radek Vitek and Facundo Pellistri’s planned loans will represent the 10th and 11th departures this winter. Martial’s extended absence and United’s reliance on loan and cut-price deals due to Financial Fair Play restrictions are expected to prompt action late in the day. The club has spent around £400m since Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund bought the club from Mike Ashley. United are trying to find a solution to Martial’s extended spell on the sidelines through the availability of Callum Wilson.
There are high expectations for Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS to invest £1.3 billion in the club. The absence of Martial could prompt a shift in funds around the club. United, Arsenal, and Chelsea are interested in Wilson.
In 2020, Keane expressed that Wilson was the real deal at AFC Bournemouth and emphasized his worth following his maiden England senior call-up. He joined Newcastle later that year and has scored 46 goals in 102 games for the club. United views Wilson as an enticing new option on the table.
