Liverpool fans were speculating about who would be given the No.1 jersey for the clash on February 25. Back-up keeper Caoimhin Kelleher has been chosen in the competition so far, as he was two years ago when the same two sides met in the final. Although Kelleher is widely perceived to be among the best keepers in the world, Klopp revealed he would be staying loyal to the Irishman.

He expressed that he wants to give Kelleher the opportunity to play, as it is important for his development. Klopp also mentioned that Kelleher was happy about the chance to win the second trophy of his career. Liverpool’s No.1, Alisson Becker, would undoubtedly be selected if the German manager were to pick his strongest team for Wembley.

However, Klopp emphasized the importance of giving Kelleher the opportunity to play. Klopp’s vow over Kelleher also led to questions about whether Jarrell Quansah would be in the starting XI at Wembley. Klopp explained that Quansah is part of the rotation crew and that’s how it is.
