Mikel Arteta, entrenador del Arsenal, responde a las sospechas sobre Martin Odegaard antes del partido contra el Liverpool

Mikel Arteta has laughed off the suggestion that Arsenal club captain Martin Odegaard communicates with his teammates via his socks. The Norwegian midfielder has been integral to the Gunners this season, taking charge of most dead-ball situations. However, fans and pundits have noticed that Odegaard frequently adjusts his socks before taking a corner or free-kick, sparking speculation. During his pre-match press conference ahead of a crucial clash with Liverpool, Arteta was asked about this issue and responded with a laugh, saying, “I’m not going to tell you that,” prompting laughter from the journalists.

This lighthearted response is not the first time Arteta has offered a comical take on recent events. He jokingly addressed the midweek altercation between Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko following Arsenal’s victory at the City Ground. Odegaard has scored four times in the Premier League this season and has become a fan favorite since joining from Real Madrid in 2021. As Arsenal aims to close the gap on Liverpool in the title race, Odegaard will be a key figure for the team.

Despite currently trailing their rivals by five points, Arsenal has shown improvement after a rocky December, with Arteta emphasizing the importance of avoiding further slip-ups if they are to end their 20-year wait for a top-flight crown.
