Robin van Persie, the former Premier League player, recently visited Manchester United’s Carrington training complex to complete a mandatory element of his UEFA Pro License. Van Persie, who played for Manchester United for three seasons, returned to the club at his personal request, approved by manager Erik ten Hag.
The Dutchman previously spent eight years at Arsenal before moving to Old Trafford in 2012. After retiring from professional football in 2019, he has now set his sights on pursuing a career in management.
During his visit to Manchester United, Van Persie requested to be accompanied by two other Dutch coaches who are also working towards completing their UEFA Pro License. He is set to remain at Carrington until Thursday and has interviews scheduled with key figures at the club.
Currently serving as an assistant coach at Feyenoord, Van Persie has also been involved in managing their youth teams. At Manchester United, Van Persie posed for pictures alongside Ten Hag’s attacking coach, Benni McCarthy.
McCarthy described the demanding workload at the club, highlighting the daily responsibilities and the relentless focus required in working with world-class players. Van Persie’s visit to Manchester United reflects his dedication to furthering his career in coaching and management, as he seeks to make a successful transition from playing to coaching.
