Ruben Amorim, the manager of Sporting Lisbon, has expressed uncertainty about his future at the club beyond the current season. He has been strongly linked with managerial positions at Liverpool and Barcelona. Amorim has emerged as a favorite to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool following Xabi Alonso’s decision to remain at Bayer Leverkusen. Amorim has indicated that his future at Sporting will depend on the team’s success in winning a title, as they are currently leading the Primeira Liga and have advanced to the final of the Taca de Portugal.
The 39-year-old tactician emphasized the importance of winning titles and stated that he will leave Sporting if they fail to achieve that goal. He also mentioned that Sporting’s incoming sporting director, Richard Hughes, will oversee the recruitment process, with his official start date being June 1. Meanwhile, Roberto De Zerbi, the current Brighton manager, has been reportedly ruled out as the next Liverpool manager and is potentially considering a move to Bayern Munich. De Zerbi has not provided clarity about his future and intends to discuss it with Brighton owner Tony Bloom at the end of the season.
