Manchester United reportedly plans to appoint a chief business officer as part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s overhaul extending from the club’s football operations into its commercial departments. The Red Devils are facing challenges in their efforts to build a new-look sporting structure, but work is ongoing to add industry-leading figures in other positions.
The Red Devils are seeking a new figure to lead commercial operations, including sponsorships and e-commerce. They plan for Ashworth to share the same status but across the football department, with both leaders below Berrada in the hierarchy.
The City chief has reportedly held numerous meetings with senior United figures ahead of his arrival and is expected to contribute to the chosen candidate. Ratcliffe and INEOS will rely on Berrada to deliver success across all fronts at Old Trafford.
There is a belief that the club needs the best possible specialists to achieve this, and Ratcliffe has emphasized his focus on sporting success rather than making money after investing £1.3 billion for a 27.7 per cent stake in his childhood club.
