Van de Van made a critical mistake, allowing Alexander Isak to score the opening goal for Newcastle, and soon after, Anthony Gordon made it 2-0. Presenter Lynsey Hipgrave confronted Ferdinand about his earlier comments at halftime, to which Ferdinand humorously replied, “Sometimes even Rolls Royce’s have technical issues!”

However, he also criticized Van de Ven’s lack of composure for the opener. In the second half, Isak scored again after evading his marker, and Fabian Schar completed the rout, leading to a result that affected Spurs’ hopes for a top-four finish.

This dropped them to fifth place before their rivals played at Arsenal later that evening.
