George Earthy, a teenage midfielder for West Ham United, suffered a gruesome head injury against Fulham. He was a late substitute in the match and collided with a teammate, Edson Alvarez, which led to a 2-0 defeat for West Ham at the London Stadium.
Earthy required medical attention on the pitch, including oxygen, and was conscious when he left on a stretcher. He was then taken to a London hospital for assessment following the match.
After the incident, West Ham United provided an update on Earthy’s condition, confirming that he would undergo an assessment in the hospital. Manager David Moyes praised Earthy’s early impact and training performances, expressing disappointment for the young player and stating that the team would take care of him.
It’s worth noting that West Ham’s fanbase has shown discontent with Moyes, despite the team’s recent success in the Europa Conference League final.
