Dennis Wise, now 57, is known for his tough playing style as a midfielder in the 1980s and 1990s. He gained recognition as part of the ‘Crazy Gang’ while playing for Wimbledon, a team known for their aggressive play and off-field antics.
The team, labeled the ‘Crazy Gang,’ gained notoriety for their wild practical jokes and unprofessional behavior, which often made headlines in the media. In 1988, they won the FA Cup, defeating Liverpool at Wembley.
Wise reflected on their antics in 2014, admitting to mischief such as letting off fireworks in hotels, putting Vaseline on car windows, and burning a teammate’s bag. Additionally, Wise is also known for his appearance on reality television.
He participated in the 17th series of I’m a Celebrity, and his daughter, Amber, appeared on Love Island. Amber’s experience on the show, particularly her upset over a love interest, drew attention.
Wise expressed his disapproval, stating that he had not yet had the need to bring out the ‘Crazy Gang’ side of him as she had never brought a boyfriend home.
