Jimmy Bullard, former Wigan Athletic, Fulham, and Hull City midfielder, is hoping to qualify for The Open later this year. A scratch golfer, Bullard is set to compete in a pro golf tournament next month as part of his preparation for The Open qualifying.

Following a football career that included a call-up to Fabio Capello’s England squad, Bullard transitioned to TV and internet fame after retiring in 2012 due to injury issues. He now appears regularly on YouTube as part of the TUBES & ANGE GOLF LIFE channel. With a strong following from his football career, Bullard aims to qualify for The Open with a 0 handicap. The Clutch Pro Tour Instagram account announced Bullard’s participation in their pro event at Tandridge on May 16th as part of his “Quest for the Open.”

Bullard previously attempted to qualify for The Open in 2013, falling short with a +6 round of 78. Now, with his prior experience of competing at the third tier of professional golf on the PGA EuroPro Tour, Bullard hopes for a different outcome this time. On the Golf Life YouTube channel, Bullard discussed the challenges of becoming a touring pro in the golf world, expressing his belief that he could compete at the EuroPro level. However, he recognizes the difficulty in making a living from it and the level of dedication required.

Despite the challenges, Bullard is determined to compete and make an impact in the world of golf.
