Agent of Man Utd’s Antony discusses exit strategy as club identifies £30m replacement

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the new owner of Manchester United, has reportedly initiated a charm offensive after investing in the club. However, amidst speculation about his future, it has been stated that there is no internal communication within the club regarding the desire to sell Antony. His agent has reassured that Manchester United is not actively planning to offload the Brazilian winger this year.

Erik ten Hag, the club’s manager, has identified a potential replacement for Antony, who has been struggling in his second season at Manchester United. Since his £86 million transfer from Ajax in 2022, Antony has failed to score a goal or provide an assist in 22 appearances this season. He has lost his established starting position on the right to Alejandro Garnacho. Additionally, off-field issues led to Antony’s absence from the team for several weeks in September, which may have affected his productivity.

Despite his underwhelming performance, his agent Junior Pedroso has played down the rumors of United planning to sell Antony. In his debut season at Old Trafford, Antony registered eight goals and three assists in 66 games.

As Manchester United approaches its first summer under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, the situation surrounding Antony’s future at the club remains uncertain.
