Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta Is Reportedly Seeking Contract Termination, Club Consideration Expected

According to a report, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta plans to leave the club at the end of the season. The Spaniard is said to have expressed this desire to close associates and it is speculated that Arsenal’s hierarchy may agree to release him from his contract prematurely. However, Arsenal has denied these reports.

Arteta has faced challenges during his tenure, particularly battling for the Premier League title against Manchester City. Since taking over in 2019, he has overseen significant changes and improvements at Arsenal, striving to create a more positive atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium. Despite his efforts, it is reported that the demands of the job have taken a toll on Arteta, leading to his contemplation of stepping down at the end of the season.

Having been a part of Barcelona’s La Masia academy and a close friend of Pep Guardiola, Arteta would be a strong contender to replace Xavi, who recently announced his decision to leave Barcelona after a disappointing result. However, Xavi’s candid assessment of the role as “unpleasant” and “cruel” may give potential successors pause.
