Chelsea busca el objetivo número 1 de Antonio Conte para reemplazar a Harry Kane en el Tottenham

The Canada international has attracted the attention of Europe’s biggest clubs over the past few years. Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Tottenham have long been linked, with previous head coach Antonio Conte reportedly lining up the attacker as Harry Kane’s replacement.

That move ultimately did not materialise. It is claimed that teams were put off by Lille’s £51m valuation in last summer’s transfer window.

David subsequently had a tough start to the season but has been in fantastic form since returning from the November international break. He has scored four times in his last six appearances, catching the eye of Europe’s top scouts.

According to TeleFoot, one of those teams are Chelsea. The Blues are desperate for a new centre-forward having struggled in front of goal in the Premier League.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is desperate for a prolific striker. David has reportedly been added to Chelsea’s shortlist.

Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney have also been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge as summer arrival Nicolas Jackson continues to underperform. Speaking about links with Chelsea, AC Milan, Napoli and Atletico Madrid, David said earlier this month that he was ‘flattered’ by transfer interest.

He revealed: “When you’re young, these are the clubs you watch, these are the clubs that you think about. It’s flattering.

I appreciate it. As we say every year, we’ll see what the future has in store for us.”

Kane departed for Bayern Munich in the summer but David did not join the north Londoners, with Conte sacked last April.

Meanwhile, Chelsea could be busy in the remaining days of the transfer window. A new striker is a necessity and could be funded by the possible departure of Conor Gallagher, who has been linked with Spurs.
