Maidstone sorprende a Ipswich en una increíble victoria en la FA Cup después del asombroso gol de Lamar Reynolds

Non-league Maidstone United achieved a major upset in the FA Cup by defeating Championship team Ipswich Town in the fourth round. Despite being 93 positions below Ipswich in the English league system, Maidstone secured a remarkable 2-1 victory with Lamar Reynolds scoring a stunning chip and Sam Corne finding the net.

Maidstone started the game on the back foot, but Reynolds’ fantastic chip before half-time gave them a surprise lead. Ipswich equalized before Maidstone quickly regained their lead with a goal from Corne.

Maidstone goalkeeper Lucas Covolan made crucial saves to maintain their lead until the final whistle. The sixth-tier Stones are now the lowest-ranked team in the FA Cup after reaching the fifth round for the first time in their history.

They achieved this feat by defeating Chesham United in the first round and securing impressive wins against league opponents Barrow, Stevenage, and Ipswich. The victory sparked scenes of wild celebration in the away end, marking a historic moment in Maidstone United’s 32-year history.
