Manchester United news: Ten Hag informed that it would take a ‘£60m bid’ for Juventus to shake hands

Erik ten Hag could make a move for Gleison Bremer in the summer transfer window, as reported by Getty. Manchester United would have to pay £60 million to acquire Gleison Bremer from Juventus, according to reports. The Red Devils are staying updated on the center-back’s situation, with Erik ten Hag and his team of transfer specialists working on plans for the summer window.

Gleison Bremer’s consistent performances for Juventus have attracted interest from overseas clubs. Juventus has set the price at £60 million for any club considering approaching the player, according to Calciomercato. United were informed of the player’s price tag before assessing whether he would be open to a move to Old Trafford.

With Raphael Varane’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, there will be a major first-team vacancy to fill under Ten Hag. Bremer has become one of the most sought-after central defenders in Europe, having made his senior breakthrough with Atletico Mineiro before moving to Torino in 2018. If United choose to meet Juventus’ substantial asking price in the summer, the Turin giants would make a significant profit.

United’s defensive statistics have been poorer than those of the four teams currently in the Champions League spots, with 29 goals conceded in 21 Premier League games this season. The team has conceded twice in each of their last two games, including against fourth-tier Newport County in the FA Cup on Sunday. The 36-year-old Varane has started 10 Premier League games this season, more than anticipated.

Like Varane, his contract is also set to expire at the end of June, and he could potentially move on to a new club. In an effort to strengthen their defensive line, United are reportedly monitoring Antonio Silva from Sporting, Edmond Tapsoba from Bayer Leverkusen, Jean-Clair Todibo from OGC Nice, and the £60 million-rated Gleison Bremer.
