Tottenham prospect without scoring this season predicted to be the next Marcus Rashford

Tottenham starlet Dane Scarlett has been compared to Marcus Rashford despite facing challenges during his loan at Ipswich in the first half of the season. He returned to Spurs after failing to score in 12 Championship appearances but had previously impressed at Portsmouth, scoring six goals in 34 league games. The coaching staff at Portsmouth wanted Scarlett to learn to play as a left-winger after realizing his potential and abilities were similar to Marcus Rashford’s. Spurs academy graduate Dane Scarlett possesses a fierce strike when coming in off the left flank, leading manager John Mousinho to compare him to Rashford.

Despite his struggles in the Championship, Scarlett’s ability to play as a left-winger has been highlighted, with coach Bassey praising him as a ‘brilliant presser’ and noting his potential in cutting inside to shoot. Scarlett’s disappointing loan spell at Ipswich led to his return to Spurs, where Ange Postecoglou expressed his intention to evaluate his progress and explore potential opportunities for him within the team. FIFA’s rules have prevented Scarlett from another loan spell, and it remains to be seen how his career will progress at Spurs.
