Tottenham’s Radu Dragusin Reveals True Colors as Club President Speaks Out

Tottenham’s new defender, Radu Dragusin, made a strong preference for the Premier League evident by turning down a larger offer from Napoli, as revealed by the Italian club’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis. Despite Napoli’s substantial financial offer, Dragusin ultimately chose to join Spurs in a £25m deal during the January transfer window, citing his desire to play in the Premier League.

His impressive performances in Serie A had attracted attention from several top European clubs. De Laurentiis disclosed his unsuccessful attempts to persuade Dragusin to move to Napoli and provided insight into the defender’s strong desire to play in the Premier League.

He emphasized that Napoli offered the highest financial incentive, but Dragusin remained steadfast in his decision to pursue a move to England. Dragusin was swayed by Spurs’ recruitment pitch during his discussions about leaving Genoa.

Since joining the team, he has made appearances in three Premier League matches, all as a substitute. When asked about rejecting Bayern Munich in favor of Tottenham, Dragusin confirmed his choice, expressing that he felt it was the right move for his career after having positive discussions with the coach and sensing a long-standing interest from the club.

In a separate move, Timo Werner had joined Spurs from RB Leipzig on an initial loan deal, with the potential for a permanent transfer in the summer.
