West Ham fans leave stadium in droves as Arsenal dominate before half-time

The hosts, Daily and Sunday Express, experienced a dramatic collapse in a match against Arsenal, resulting in the Gunners gaining a 4-0 lead at halftime. Seeking retribution for a previous loss, Arsenal capitalized on the pressure to keep up with other title race contenders Liverpool and Manchester City. Arsenal’s William Saliba broke the deadlock, scoring the first goal, followed by Bukayo Saka doubling the lead from a penalty spot. Gabriel Magalhaes then secured a third goal, and Leandro Trossard added a fourth just before halftime.

West Ham had struggled in recent matches, failing to win any of their six games prior to Arsenal’s visit, and facing upcoming challenges against Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Everton, and Burnley. Despite a strong start to the season, with leadership in their Europa League group, West Ham’s recent poor form has caused concern. Meanwhile, Arsenal’s victory over Liverpool and the commanding performance in the first half against West Ham further established their standing as contenders in the title race.
