Tottenham suffers double injury setback as two key players miss training

Tottenham defenders Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie were absent from training on Thursday ahead of their Premier League clash with Wolves. The two full-backs played a significant role in the team’s 2-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion in their previous match. Udogie went off injured in the 80th minute of that game, while Porro completed the full 90 minutes.

Udogie has made 21 appearances this season, scoring twice, while Porro has featured in 23 games and has contributed eight assists in the Premier League. Initially, manager Ange Postecoglou downplayed any new injury concerns after the Brighton game, stating that apart from Udogie, everyone else seemed to be okay. However, it appears that the issue might be more serious than originally thought.

Udogie had also missed the reverse fixture against Wolves, where Spurs suffered a 2-1 defeat. These potential injuries add to Tottenham’s defensive woes, as the team has conceded in every Premier League game since a 2-0 win in mid-December. The absence of Porro and Udogie could create an opportunity for newcomer Radu Dragusin, as well as Ben Davies and Emerson Royal, to step up and fill the defensive roles.

Postecoglou has spoken highly of both Udogie and Porro, praising Udogie’s physical attributes and his impact in a tough league, as well as Porro’s outstanding performance and exceptional footballing abilities. Other football pundits have also acknowledged the crucial roles played by Udogie and Porro in Spurs’ recent matches. Tottenham’s upcoming game against Wolverhampton Wanderers is set to kick off at 3pm on Saturday, with live coverage available on BBC Radio 5 Live.
