Apology from Man Utd’s Kobbie Mainoo after scoring against Liverpool

Kobbie Mainoo, a highly-rated 18-year-old midfielder for Manchester United, recently apologized for his celebration after scoring his first goal at Old Trafford against Liverpool. The goal, set up by Aaron Wan-Bissaka, was an impressive turn and shot from just inside the box, putting United ahead 1-0 at half-time. However, the team ultimately drew 2-2, with Mainoo’s goal negated by a late penalty from Liverpool’s Mo Salah.

Mainoo admitted that his early celebration was due to his excitement, and he felt sorry for getting ahead of himself. He also expressed his joy at scoring his first professional goal at Old Trafford, despite the disappointment of not securing a win. He reflected on the team’s recurring issue of conceding late goals, which has cost them points in recent matches despite initially leading.

Mainoo expressed his disappointment with only securing a point against Liverpool, as he believed the team performed well in the second half, and minor mistakes had major consequences. Overall, while Mainoo celebrated his personal achievement, he expressed disappointment in the team’s inability to secure a win and addressed the challenge of conceding late goals.
