Alexander Isak’s Northumberland home was reportedly raided by burglars earlier this week. The Newcastle United striker’s car was stolen and abandoned three miles away. Isak is the latest in a line of Premier League footballers targeted by ‘away day gangs’, who strike when they suspect players will be away for matches. This incident follows the burglary of Isak’s teammate Joelinton’s home three months ago.
The police are investigating the robbery and its possible connection to previous incidents involving the club’s players. According to reports, the burglary occurred two days before Isak’s team played against Fulham, where he played the full 90 minutes. There are no details about the presence of Isak or his family during the incident, and information about the stolen items is being kept confidential. It is known, however, that a car was abandoned three miles from the property.
It is understood that the burglars gained entry through the property’s rear patio doors. The police were alerted to the incident at around 10 pm on Thursday evening in the Darras Hall estate in Northumberland. Isak’s situation adds to a series of burglaries involving Premier League footballers, including incidents with Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, Victor Lindelof, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Isak, originally from Sweden, has been in England since 2022, when he joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad for £63m.
He has been a successful addition to the team, scoring 29 goals in 59 matches, including 19 this season, and is known for his recent impressive performance.
