Liverpool chief Michael Edwards prepared to offload Mohamed Salah after Man Utd draw

Liverpool chief Michael Edwards is reportedly willing to allow Mohamed Salah to leave the club this summer. The winger is expected to attract interest from Saudi Arabian outfits at the end of the season, and a move is not being ruled out at this stage. Salah was the subject of interest from Al-Ittihad last summer, but Jurgen Klopp spoke publicly against the pursuit, insisting that the Egypt international remained central to his plans at Anfield this season.

The winger has played a key role in Liverpool’s resurgence as title contenders, scoring 17 goals and assisting nine in 25 appearances. According to reports, Middle Eastern outfits are already preparing their initial approaches for Salah, with Saudi sides being confident that a deal can be struck for him this summer. Liverpool are already working on a shortlist for Salah’s replacement, with Wolves’ Pedro Neto and Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz being among the players being considered.

Michael Edwards is reportedly willing to facilitate Salah’s exit if he receives an indication from the player himself that he would like to move on. Al-Ittihad remains the ‘most likely’ destination for Salah if he decides to leave Merseyside due to their financial power, but other top clubs are also in the running for the winger’s services. Liverpool are assessing potential replacements for Salah, but any moves for these targets are expected to be delayed until it is clear that Salah will leave the club.
