Man Utd ‘confident’ of £10m deal to transform summer transfer window

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is eager to inject new life into Manchester United this summer. Both on and off the pitch, the INEOS chief is seeking significant changes.

He has already made key moves by bringing in Omar Berrada from Manchester City, and he is now eyeing the acquisition of Dan Ashworth, who has been on gardening leave from Newcastle since February. Ashworth, who has had success with the FA, Brighton, and Newcastle, is seen as a valuable addition for United’s recruitment efforts.

Negotiations have been ongoing, with United reportedly gaining confidence that a deal can be reached. Newcastle had initially demanded £20 million to release Ashworth, but have reportedly softened their stance, potentially reaching an agreement in the region of £10 million.

United are optimistic about securing Ashworth, as he has expressed interest in joining the club. With the summer transfer window approaching, the Red Devils are eager to bolster their squad, with plans to invest in new talent both upfront and at the back.

Manager Erik ten Hag is keen to add a striker and reinforce the wide positions. Additionally, significant changes are expected in United’s defense, with plans to replace Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane with younger center-backs.
