Manchester United experienced a dramatic defeat at the hands of Chelsea, as they lost a 3-2 lead to a 4-3 defeat, marking their 12th Premier League loss of the season.

Despite a successful first year for manager Erik ten Hag, with triumphs in the Carabao Cup and a third-place finish securing a Champions League return, the team’s fortunes have since taken a downturn. Their Carabao Cup defense ended early, and the team has recorded only one win in six games. The FA Cup now represents Manchester United’s potential saving grace, following an impressive 4-3 quarter-final victory against Liverpool. A win against Championship side Coventry City would put them in a second consecutive final against Manchester City or Chelsea.

Ten Hag’s performance is under scrutiny, as the team’s 12 Premier League defeats this season equals previous low points in the club’s history. However, with two pieces of silverware within reach, the pressure on the 54-year-old manager continues to mount.
