Man Utd’s 9-1 Victory Humiliates Liverpool as U18 Star Emulates Rooney’s Boxing Celebration

Ethan Wheatley, a young star of Manchester United Under-18 team, imitated Wayne Rooney’s famous celebration when he scored in his team’s decisive victory over Liverpool. The Young Red Devils secured a resounding 9-1 win on Saturday, with Wheatley scoring a hat-trick and showcasing his celebratory skills in honor of the club’s record scorer. His celebration included mimicking Rooney’s famous boxing moves and falling backward as if knocked out.

This act was reminiscent of Rooney’s 2015 celebration, where he humorously referred to a viral video showing him playfully sparring with his friend and former United defender Phil Bardsley after scoring against Spurs. Wheatley’s celebration was well-deserved, given the dominant performance of the United team. The match saw a one-sided affair in the Under-18 Premier League encounter, with the visitors taking the lead early on and maintaining control throughout.

Following Wheatley’s quick goals, Ethan Williams effectively put an end to any hopes of a comeback from Liverpool. Despite a brief respite with a goal from Joe Bradshaw, United continued to dominate the game, adding more goals through Wheatley, Scanlon, and Biancheri. Ultimately, the win further solidified United’s position at the top of the table, now 13 points ahead of their rivals.
