Gary Lineker sends message to Arsenal as Edu faces spending more money

Nottingham Forest may need to sell players in the summer after being deducted four points for breaching profit and sustainability regulations. They were £34.5m above their permitted threshold of £61m, although they are challenging their penalty. Gibbs-White has been one of Forest’s best players over the past two years and has plenty of resale value.

The Midlands outfit will likely demand a huge fee from potential buyers, having paid nearly £40million to land the playmaker from Wolves in 2022. Former striker Lineker is a big fan of Gibbs-White and admitted on Match of the Day that he has admired him for years. Pundit Micah Richards also praised Gibbs-White for his performance and impact on the team in their recent win over Fulham.

Transfer chief Edu identified him as a target in light of Forest’s punishment, but if he anticipated striking a bargain deal, that may not be the case with Forest currently three points above the relegation zone. Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo insists the club are not thinking about selling their key stars. This may include adverts from us and third parties based on our understanding.
