Piers Morgan is incorrect – Arsenal require £85m player instead of Cristiano Ronaldo

Arsenal are facing challenges due to the absence of a proper striker, with missed opportunities leading to regret. A suggestion was made that Cristiano Ronaldo would score over 25 goals a season in the team with the kind of service he would receive. This points to Arteta’s failure to prioritize acquiring a top striker, highlighting a major weakness in his management. Despite being 39 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to achieve remarkable success in Saudi Arabia, with 56 goals in 62 matches for Al-Nassr, topping the Pro League’s scoring charts.

While it would be attention-grabbing for ‘CR7’ to join Emirates, the difference in standard between the Middle East and the Premier League cannot be ignored. The need for a finisher for Arsenal is highlighted, with Gabriel Jesus not being the ideal solution. Instead, the option of Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, with an £85 million release clause, is being considered. Arsenal missed the opportunity to have Ollie Watkins in their team, instead relying on the hard-working but struggling Jesus.

Pursuing him seems pointless, as he is contracted with another team until 2028. Ivan Toney, despite being linked with Arsenal, may not be the ideal choice due to implications of a betting ban and age-related concerns. On the other hand, Viktor Gyokeres has shown promising performances at Sporting CP, scoring 36 goals in 43 club games this season. Gyokeres is seen as a suitable candidate for Arsenal, as he provides the physicality, mobility, and technical skills required, along with a predatory instinct in front of goal.

His £85 million release clause and prior interest from Liverpool and Manchester City reflect the potential he holds. At 25 years old, he could be the missing piece in the Arsenal puzzle and a long-term investment.
