Pochettino Threatens to Drop Two Chelsea Players After ‘Shameful’ Penalty Dispute

Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, expressed his dissatisfaction and issued a warning to players Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke after their attempt to take a penalty away from Cole Palmer, who had scored four goals in a match against Everton. Pochettino was furious with the behavior of the players and expressed that such actions will not be tolerated in the future. Pochettino emphasized the need for a collective approach rather than individual achievement and made it clear that Cole Palmer is the designated penalty taker for the team. Despite the disagreement, Palmer took a more relaxed stance and expressed understanding towards his teammates’ desire to take responsibility.

Pochettino suggested that the incident would not affect the team selection for the upcoming FA Cup semi-final. On the other side, Everton’s manager Sean Dyche was critical of the team’s performance, particularly highlighting the lack of intent and desire. He emphasized the need for players to show strength and put in tackles to avoid conceding soft goals. In separate news, Everton challenged a two-point penalty from the Premier League for breaching financial rules.
