Bastian Schweinsteiger revealed that Mourinho banned him from the Manchester United dressing room and made him train with the club’s U16s for seeking treatment from personal doctors for an injury. Neville expressed his shock and embarrassment at this “illegal” treatment by Mourinho and Murtough.

Schweinsteiger joined Manchester United from Bayern Munich in 2015 but struggled to make an impact, leading to his exit in 2017, sanctioned by Mourinho. In an interview with Neville, Schweinsteiger detailed how he was banned from the first team dressing room, forced to train with the U16s, and later had to train alone with a fitness coach for over three months.

Mourinho believed the midfielder was unhappy at United for seeking treatment from German doctors, contrary to the agreement with previous manager Louis van Gaal. Schweinsteiger rarely saw his senior teammates and felt that the club wanted to offload him.

Neville condemned the treatment of Schweinsteiger, stating that it was illegal and unacceptable. Schweinsteiger reaffirmed his love for United and mentioned Mourinho’s private apology before his move to MLS, but the revelations of his treatment left a sour taste.

In conclusion, Schweinsteiger’s mistreatment by Mourinho and Murtough has drawn criticism and shed light on the player’s difficult time at Manchester United.
