Ruben Amorim, the Sporting boss, returned to Portugal after discussions with West Ham. He had been targeted by Liverpool and West Ham as a potential managerial candidate. Upon his return, he offered only three words to the media and declined to assess the reported meeting with West Ham or the links with Liverpool, indicating his focus on the upcoming match.

Amorim’s future remains uncertain, with speculations linking him to managerial roles at top clubs. After taking time off following a win, he traveled to London for talks with West Ham and reportedly spent six hours before returning to Portugal. Upon his arrival back in Portugal, Amorim faced numerous reporters but refrained from commenting further, redirecting the attention to the upcoming match with Porto. CNN Portugal reported that Amorim traveled to London on a private plane organized by West Ham’s owners, accompanied by businessman Raul Costa.

This recent activity has sparked discussions about the future of David Moyes at West Ham following their challenging defeat by Crystal Palace.
