Joe Cole, a TNT Sports pundit and former Chelsea star, jokingly mentioned that he skipped Mikel Arteta’s interview with the broadcaster after the Blues suffered a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal.

Cole was present for the match as a pundit alongside Rio Ferdinand and Martin Keown for TNT, but he was noticeably absent at the end of the game when Arteta conducted his interview. He later explained that he wanted to leave the Emirates early following Chelsea’s disheartening performance and had no interest in speaking to Arteta.

After Mauricio Pochettino spoke to the group, Cole reappeared and humorously admitted his attempt to leave north London after such a disappointing performance by his former team. Keown and Ferdinand then teased Cole about his absence, with Keown remarking that he went missing like Chelsea did in the match, to which Ferdinand added, “Shots fired.”

Cole then shifted the focus to the home supporters, questioning their early celebrations at the full-time whistle and expressing surprise at their enthusiasm. He explained that Chelsea struggled to compete with Arsenal’s early attacks, particularly without influential players, and emphasized the need for better performance in the upcoming game against Aston Villa.

Arteta reflected on Arsenal’s impressive performance and expressed frustration at the manner in which Chelsea lost to their rivals. He also mentioned receiving numerous messages from disappointed fans and highlighted the significance of bouncing back in the next game.
