Tottenham are reportedly planning to hold a ‘transfer summit’ with Serie A side Genoa to discuss various players and proposals, including Djed Spence. Spence, who moved to north London two years ago from Middlesbrough, has had limited playing time and been loaned out three times. There are strong relations between Spurs and Genoa, and it seems likely that there may be significant activity between the two clubs this summer.

Genoa have an option to buy Spence permanently for £8.5m after his short spell with the club, while also expressing interest in Albert Gudmundsson, who has attracted attention from top European clubs. Tottenham may seek to use Spence as part of a deal to land Gudmundsson, potentially reducing the fee for the Icelandic forward and freeing up Spence’s wages, as their manager searches for more attacking depth. Genoa’s sporting director Marco Ottolini has confirmed interest in their top talents, not only from within Italy but also internationally, and expressed a focus on their upcoming matches. Should a swap deal be agreed upon for Gudmundsson, Spence could possibly extend his stay in Italy, putting an end to his time at Tottenham.
