Virgil van Dijk has extended his support to the potential new Liverpool manager, Arne Slot. The Anfield decision-makers are in negotiations with Feyenoord for compensation to bring Slot to Liverpool at the end of the current season.
Slot is expected to take over from Jurgen Klopp next month and Van Dijk, expressing his belief in Slot’s abilities, considers him an excellent choice for the position. However, he acknowledged that negotiations are still ongoing and it will be some time before anything is finalized. Liverpool’s initial offer to Feyenoord was dismissed, with reports indicating a variation in the valuations of the proposed deal.
Additionally, Slot is expected to bring in new members for Liverpool’s backroom staff, including his assistant coach and head of performance. Negotiations between the two clubs and Slot’s agent are underway, with face-to-face discussions expected in the near future.
