Chelsea may possess nine ideal players for Ruben Amorim if Pochettino is removed

Ruben Amorim has emerged as a potential successor to Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea this summer. The Sporting boss has not ruled out a move to the Premier League, with speculation linking him to other clubs as well. Pochettino’s position at Chelsea is in jeopardy following a recent 5-0 defeat to Arsenal and a disappointing league position. As a result, Amorim could be a logical appointment for Chelsea’s ownership given the squad he would inherit.

If appointed, Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system could benefit several players at Chelsea. This includes Reece James, Wesley Fofana, and Levi Colwill, who could thrive in a strong back-three. The system could also suit players like Malo Gusto and Ben Chilwell, while midfielders Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez may develop further under fresh managerial instructions. Amorim’s preference for inside forwards over traditional wingers could bring out the best in players like Cole Palmer and Nkunku.

These players are familiar with playing as 10s and their new positions would complement each other without compromising the team’s offensive capabilities.
