Ballboy ejected after altercation with Rangers player as St Mirren fans express disapproval

Rangers star Leon Balogun found himself at the center of attention when he was trolled by a cheeky ballboy during a match against St Mirren in Paisley. The incident occurred as St Mirren’s Scott Tanser charged down an opponent to give Rangers a throw-in. Instead of returning the ball to Balogun, the ballboy rolled it in the opposite direction, prompting an unimpressed reaction from the defender, who sarcastically clapped at the youngster. Moments after the incident, a member of staff was seen ushering the ballboy away from the pitch, leading to a reaction from the St Mirren fans who booed the ballboy’s removal.

The commentators also noted the incident and the reaction from the fans. The frustration for Balogun may have stemmed from the significance of the match in Rangers’ season, as they could not afford any slip-ups in the Scottish Premiership title race, with rivals Celtic ready to take advantage. The match itself saw an early breakthrough for Rangers, with James Bolton’s own-goal giving the visitors a lead, which was canceled out by Mikael Mandron’s equalizer just five minutes later.
