Mo Salah defies Jurgen Klopp’s assignment in Liverpool dressing room

Tensions have been running high in the Liverpool camp over the past few weeks, as their hopes of landing a treble were dashed by Atalanta and Everton. Countless Reds stars have underperformed during this time, with Salah’s performances leaving more to be desired than most.

The Egypt international appeared frustrated when preparing to enter the fray against West Ham at the London Stadium, and tempers began to boil over. Salah was notably angrier than his manager, and his berating of his boss was unexpected from a player with over 240 appearances and a captain of his national team.

According to The Athletic, Salah was added to Liverpool’s club leadership group last summer due to being one of the most respected players in their dressing room. He is looked up to by youngsters and considered a ‘role model’ in the academy.

However, Salah’s behavior against West Ham was not exemplary, raising questions about his future at the club if he is not sold at the end of the season. A heated exchange between Mohamed Salah and Jürgen Klopp occurred on the sidelines just before West Ham’s equalizer.

Salah is expected to receive immense interest from Saudi Pro League outfits at the end of the season, and his performance against West Ham may not have helped his case if he is aiming to secure a new contract at Anfield.
