Chelsea holds significant advantage over Man Utd in rehiring Thomas Tuchel for coaching position

Pochettino is expected to meet with the Chelsea board at the end of the season. Despite the team’s recent show of support for him in a 2-2 draw at Aston Villa, there are concerns that he may be let go due to a troubled season at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea’s performance under Pochettino’s leadership has been disappointing, with only 13 wins out of 33 Premier League matches and conceding 59 goals. Meanwhile, Ten Hag’s Manchester United has also faced challenges, with a higher number of losses and a lower points tally compared to their previous season.

If both Pochettino and Ten Hag are dismissed, this could pave the way for a potential fight between Chelsea and United to secure Tuchel as their new manager. Tuchel, who previously led Chelsea to win the Champions League, is seen as a highly accomplished and desirable candidate. Both clubs are reportedly interested in Tuchel, with Chelsea having an advantage due to Tuchel’s previous ties to the club. United is rumored to be postponing a decision on Ten Hag’s future until after the FA Cup final, whereas Chelsea’s decision regarding Pochettino is expected to be made after their final game of the season.

If Pochettino is let go, Chelsea may reach out to Tuchel’s representatives beforehand to gauge his interest in returning to the club, as Tuchel has previously expressed his love for Chelsea. In the event that Tuchel is not available, United has also shown interest in Graham Potter and Gareth Southgate as potential managerial candidates. However, missing out on Tuchel to a Premier League rival would be a disappointing outcome for United if they do not act promptly.
