Manchester United is reportedly planning to extend Mason Greenwood’s contract. The decision is to trigger a one-year extension, tying him down until 2026.

The club aims to cash in on Greenwood this summer, but will sanction a return if no suitors meet his valuation. There are claims that Manchester United may allow Greenwood’s return if they are not satisfied with offers, amid interest from England, Italy, and Spain.

They also want to eliminate the risk of losing Greenwood for free next summer, strengthening their negotiation position in the coming months. United has informed Greenwood of the decision to extend his contract by 12 months until June 2026.

This increases the possibility of Greenwood remaining at the club if the asking price isn’t met, indicating his value to the team. Other players like Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Hannibal Mejbri, and Christian Eriksen are out of contract next summer but are not in talks over new deals.
